Retrofitted for the Viking Cup, a televised international
hockey tournament.
Original configuration:
- 40 x 400w Metal Halide fixtures
- Delivering an average of 27 foot candles
- Energy consumption of 16 kilowatts
- Very low light levels with extensive shadowing on the
playing surface and virtually no lighting in the
stands.
The building was retrofitted with Bell Lighting Technologies
Inc. fixtures
- 18 x BL LF1000w Metal Halide fixtures
- Delivering an average of 75 foot candles
- Energy consumption of 18 kilowatts.
- The elimination of shadowing on the playing surface and
greater light levels brought the arena up to an
international tournament level and allowed for
televised coverage of the games.
