Building used for official ceremonies and parade training

Original configuration:

• 66 x 400w Metal Halide Halothane fixtures
• Delivering an average of 25 foot candles
• Energy consumption of 26.4 kilowatts
• Extensive shadowing throughout the facility

The building was retrofitted with Bell Lighting Technologies Inc. fixtures

• 15 x BL LF1000w Metal Halide fixtures
• Delivering an average of 71 foot candles
• Energy consumption of 15 kilowatts (a reduction of 43.2%)
• The shadowing was completely eliminated.

Based on 84 hours of use per week the reduced energy consumption resulted in a saving of $2,800/year. A further saving of $2,500/year was realized in maintenance costs, due to the reduced parts and labour required for maintaining 77% fewer fixtures.

The complete cost of the retrofit was recouped in 18 months.
